VFR sim flying
improved.
Currently invite-only, Luftrum is a GA-only career add-on that gives your VFR flying purpose, structure, and immersion.
VFR career flight demo
A first look at how Luftrum gives ordinary GA flying a persistent economy, local progression, and actual stakes.
How is it different?
Inspired by FSEconomy and built by a PPL student, Luftrum tries to replicate the real-world constraints of GA/VFR flying.
Flight clubs and area licenses
You don't build an empire here. You join a club and do a checkride, just like in real GA. You don't simply grab a plane five countries away; you expand from your home base progressively, doing jobs, earning area licenses, and getting to know your local airspace.
No Heathrow here
You'd probably never land a piston aircraft at a major international airport in real life, so you won't do that here either. Luftrum lives in the GA world: parallel to airliner operations, not mixed into them.
Checkrides are real
Luftrum assumes you can fly a solid traffic pattern before you start and handle basic navigation. Just like in real life, you'll do plenty of checkrides. They cost money, they matter to your progression, and they are not trivial to pass.
NPC pilots and a dynamic economy
Tens of thousands of NPC pilots populate clubs, compete for lucrative jobs, and actively move aircraft around the world. Prices move, operators pay more as they get desperate, and ferry jobs help aircraft eventually return where they belong.
A persistent, competitive universe
You, other players, and AI pilots chase the same jobs, fly the same aircraft, and pursue the same advanced licenses. Jobs are plentiful, but good payoffs are scarce.
Flight quality and fine-grained leaderboards
Do you butter your landings or just get the job done? How do you stack up against other pilots, your club against other clubs, or your country against other countries?
