1. What Luftrum is

Luftrum is a flight simulator add-on consisting of two components: Konnekt, a desktop application that interfaces with your simulator, and the Pilot Hub, a web portal for managing your virtual career. Together they provide a persistent virtual economy, career tracking, flight analysis, and related features for VFR and GA flight simulation.

Luftrum is currently in early access. Features are incomplete, things will break, and the product will change — sometimes significantly — without notice. By using Luftrum you acknowledge this and agree not to rely on it for anything that actually matters.

2. Early access and service availability

Luftrum is provided as early access software. There are no uptime guarantees, no SLA, and no commitment to availability at any specific time or for any specific duration. The service may go down for maintenance, updates, debugging, or because something broke unexpectedly. This will happen.

We will do our best to communicate planned downtime in advance via Discord. Unplanned outages will be communicated as quickly as possible. Neither type entitles you to compensation or a refund for the affected period.

Once Luftrum exits early access and moves to a paid model, uptime commitments will be introduced. Until then, you're flying on a construction site and we're both okay with that.

3. Accounts

You must create an account to use Luftrum. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. Do not share your account — your career data, flight history, and economy position are tied to it.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the platform, or engage in behaviour that disrupts other users' experience. During early access we also reserve the right to revoke access at any time if necessary for platform stability or development reasons — this is rare and we'd communicate it directly.

You must be at least 16 years old to use Luftrum.

4. Konnekt and simulator access

Konnekt connects to your flight simulator using official interfaces (Microsoft SimConnect). It reads simulation data — position, altitude, speed, aircraft state, fuel — and sends it to Luftrum's servers. It also injects AI traffic into your simulator session.

Konnekt does not modify simulator files, alter core simulator behaviour, or interact with any part of your system outside of the sanctioned simulator interfaces. It runs as a background application and can be exited at any time.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Konnekt is compatible with any relevant end-user licence agreements for your simulator of choice.

5. The virtual economy

The Luftrum economy is a simulated, fictional system. Virtual currency, jobs, aircraft, and assets within it have no real-world monetary value and cannot be exchanged, transferred, or redeemed for anything outside the platform.

We reserve the right to adjust, rebalance, reset, or modify any aspect of the virtual economy at any time. During early access in particular, economy resets may occur if required for development or balancing reasons. We'll try to give advance notice when possible.

6. Subscriptions and payments

Paid subscriptions and pay-as-you-go packages are not yet available during early access. When introduced, pricing and billing terms will be clearly stated at the point of purchase.

Luftrum's auto-pause feature will automatically suspend your subscription when the system detects inactivity. You will not be charged for suspended periods. The specifics of what constitutes inactivity and the suspension threshold will be documented when billing launches.

Refund eligibility will be determined on a case-by-case basis. We're not going to fight you over a €8 charge.

7. Acceptable use

You may use Luftrum for personal, non-commercial flight simulation. You may not:

— Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract source code from Konnekt or any Luftrum service — Interfere with or disrupt the platform, servers, or other users' sessions — Use automated tools to manipulate the economy, accumulate jobs, or gain an unfair advantage — Impersonate another user or misrepresent your identity — Use the platform for any commercial purpose without written permission

We're building a simulation of real aviation practices. Behave accordingly.

8. Data and privacy

Your use of Luftrum is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what data we collect, why, and how it's used. The short version: we collect what we need to run the platform, we don't sell it, and we don't do anything weird with it.

Flight data generated during your sessions — position, altitude, aircraft type, flight events — is used to power the logbook, flight scoring, and economy. It may also be used in aggregate, anonymised form to improve the platform.

9. Intellectual property

Luftrum, Konnekt, the Pilot Hub, and all associated software, design, and content are the property of the developer. You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the platform for personal flight simulation. Nothing here gives you ownership of or rights to any part of the platform beyond that.

Open source components used in Luftrum are attributed on the Open Source page and governed by their respective licences.

10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Luftrum is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted availability.

We are not liable for any loss of virtual progress, economy position, or career data resulting from outages, resets, or bugs — particularly during early access. We are also not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.

Luftrum is a flight simulator add-on. It has no bearing on real-world aviation and should not be used as a substitute for real flight training, navigation, or operating procedures.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via Discord and/or email. Continued use of Luftrum after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
