About Luftrum

Luftrum is a free career and persistent-economy add-on for Microsoft Flight Simulator. It focuses primarily on general aviation and VFR flying, giving ordinary simulator flights jobs, progression, practical checkrides and a shared world that continues to operate between sessions.

Luftrum is built around actual flying rather than airline management or spreadsheet-style operations. Pilots fly general-aviation aircraft manually, while the Windows client Konnekt tracks the flight and connects the simulator to the Luftrum Pilot Hub.

Pilots join clubs, accept available jobs and fly them in Microsoft Flight Simulator. Flights are scored across the flight rather than only at touchdown. Progression includes aircraft-class certificates, area progression and demanding practical checkrides. The economy is shared and persistent, so jobs and aircraft availability continue to change as human and NPC pilots operate in the world.

Yes. Luftrum is free to use. Access is currently invite-only while the project is in early access.

Yes. Luftrum supports Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 through its Windows client, Konnekt.

Luftrum is inspired in part by the persistent-economy concept popularized by FSEconomy, but it is its own system and product. The emphasis is on manual airmanship, flight-quality scoring, practical checkrides, clubs and pilot progression rather than simply accumulating virtual money or running an airline-management simulation.
