This week marks another important rollout.
Kompanion
Kompanion is a universal EFB (electronic flight bag) experience for Luftrum. Universal means that the exact same experience will work on your sim PC, a tablet, on another PC, later on the EFB of MSFS, and even remotely on your phone via the Internet. A crucial design aspect is that there is no capability difference between the clients: whatever works on your host PC, will work remotely on your phone too. I plan to create a video shortly to give you an overview of its capabilities.
Kompanion also introduces important new features: better SimBrief integration, experimental GSX Pro integration, remote "eyes-on" monitoring, simulation state saves and an offline flight gallery of all your screenshots taken within Luftrum. Some of these features are experimental: they were tested on the trivial paths, but have known quirks still. The save state feature of MSFS2024 is quite broken. Use it with "perhaps this rescues me if the sim crashes" mindset.
Performance and code hygiene
Normally I don't post about technical hygiene. This time however, perf optimizations were done to the built-in map component that leads to a 50-100x speedup. So the map load is much snappier now, you'll see much less of that "resolving nodes..." overlay. There were also some massive framework upgrades (Next 14 to Next 15 and Next 16 depending on the component). Finally, the login experience was separated from the Pilot Hub experience to make room for the at-some-future-point Operator Hub experience.
